THE 2005 EVENT
SWAROVSKI FASHION ROCKS FOR THE PRINCE'S TRUST SPARKLES ITS WAY TO A ROCKING SUCCESS
Swarovski Fashion Rocks, rocking the worlds of fashion and music, and raising much-needed funds for The Prince's Trust.
Swarovski, the world's largest producer of cut crystal for fashion and jewellery, is delighted by the overwhelming, enthusiastic response from the public, media and industry insiders, around the globe, to Swarovski Fashion Rocks for The Prince's Trust, held in Monte Carlo, on October 17th 2005.
The Swarovski Fashion Rocks show itself, a creative collaboration of cutting edge fashion and music, was the centrepiece to an entire weekend of glamour and escapism. Hosted by Jeremy Irons and Jerry Hall, who changed designer gowns for each entrance and was accessorised in Daniel Swarovski jewellery, the show opened in true rock style by Bon Jovi, and dazzled the 2000 glittering guests in the Grimaldi Forum theatre. Spectacular, fast-changing stage sets, contemporary and edgy, electric and poetic, were created by show producer Alex de Betak, to maximise the scintillating light-filled energy of Swarovski crystal, an essential ingredient of fashion, stage and music for over 100 years.
HSH Prince Albert of Monaco gave an elegant speech welcoming the event to the principality, praising the work of The Prince's Trust. This set the tone for the evening, underlining the celebrity-fuelled glamour of the show and the dinner with a poignant message about helping young people far less fortunate than the gathered guests.
Punctuated with guest presenters including Sharon and Kelly Osbourne, Victoria Beckham and June Sarpong and with the pure and emotive sounds of Il Divo, the music and fashion line-up was dramatic and eclectic:
Celebrity guests, performers and designers were given a special edition Swarovski crystal mesh ROCK cuff.
